We Need Your Leadership: Become a Mentor Today!
Huron’s Mentorship Program is a vital component of our mission to develop Leaders with Heart. The program provides a platform for our extraordinary alumni network to mentor Huron’s emerging students leaders.
Huron’s Alumni Mentorship model establishes connections between our upper year students and our Alumni who can provide insight and support to the student as they begin to consider their transition from the post-secondary learning environment to employment or graduate studies.
We have two options to engage with our Mentorship Program, which include our Formal Program (6-months) and/or Informational Interviews (Coffee Chats).
Formal Program (6-months):
In the Formal Program, the student and alumni will connect for a minimum of 1 hour per month over a platform that suits both parties, including email, Zoom, Facetime, etc. The alumni and student will continue to work together over the six-months (November to April annually).
Applications for the six-month Formal Mentorship Program close in October each year, at which time we will review all candidates and begin the matching process with our students and alumni.
Applications for the formal 6-month program have closed for the 2021-22 academic year. However, we are always looking for alumni mentors who are able to support through informational interviews (see below).
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Courtney Santin
Informational Interviews:
The Career Development team facilitates meetings with students who express interest in a coffee chat or informational interview with one of our powerhouse alumni. Informational interviews are available to the entire student body at Huron and are arranged based on student demand or requests throughout the year.
If you are interested in mentoring a Huron student through the means of informational interviews, please fill out our application form below and Courtney Santin will connect with you for next steps!
